Billboard Battle Of The Bands. Opportunity of a lifetime. Memories forever.

Before the moment arrives, I just wanted to thank everyone who got me this far. During round one, I was against two other bands in my region. You guys had to VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE. And it was nervewracking. I wanted to make it to the final rounds so bad. And after a way-to-long few weeks, I got a call saying I won. Then I had about two months to count down the roadtrip to Vegas. 

First of all, the road trip to Vegas was one of the coolest experiences ever. My band and I drove in a Chevy Cruze and it had my NAME ON IT. I know right? Cray Cray. The whole journey to Vegas was unforgettable. Once we drove in to Vegas, it finally hit me. I was going to be performing on Friday for a HUGE show for a HUGE opportunity. Nothing ever really hits me until the day of or a few days before in this industry. It’s an up and down roller coaster and can be pretty tough at times. That’s why I’m so incredibly thankful to be apart of this Billboard Battle Of The Bands. Of COURSE I wanna win, but whatever happens, happens. And I am just so happy and blessed to of made it this far.

It was a Thursday night, and my parents and I were just getting back from seeing the movie, “Listen”. I was so inspired by the story and how the girls in the film were so powerful and strong. I was singing “Listen” over and over again and memorized the lyrics. My parents had heard of this site called Youtube so they asked me if they could record me singing it and post it online. I thought it was the craziest idea. I kept telling them they were crazy. But then, I gave in and trusted them. We had already been through a lot, trying so hard for me to get noticed. They flew me to LA three times for talent competitions, got suckered into some dumb deal that promised us all of these things that never happened, and we didn’t know who to trust. I was pretty much desperate at that point. I wanted to be on a stage. I wanted to be traveling. I wanted to be releasing music at that point. So, I posted that video the night of March 8^th, 2007. And I’ve never been so happy to listen to my parents.

YouTube has been such a great platform for me. I’ve been able to meet some of the coolest people, collab with awesome musicians, and have YOU guys on my side. My music has gotten to reach so many amazing places. I have fansites in Norway, Brazil, Switzerland… I’m so blessed and lucky to have supporters like YOU who have been by my side since day one. AND might I add “keep me going”. You beautiful people inspire me to keep going in this crazy, up & down, roller coaster industry.

I had no idea that YouTube was going to change my life and get me steps closer to my dreams. But because of you guys, I’m able to say I’m livin’ the dream. It makes me so happy when I get messages from you all saying that one of my videos has inspired you to go out and live your dreams. I hope that’s the one thing you take out of watching my videos. I want all of you to know that it IS possible to do anything. I am an example! If I can do it, YOU can.
